How I work

Every project starts with a conversation and a visit. From there, it's design, then build, then delivery. The exact timeline depends on the piece, but the shape of the process is the same. Here's what to expect.

Consultation
01

Consultation

It starts with a phone call or a form submission. If the project's in range, I'll come out for a free home visit. I'd rather see the space, the light, and the room the piece is going into than try to design it from a description. We'll talk about what you have in mind, what you're working with budget-wise, and what's actually possible.

Typically 1-2 weeks from first contact to home visit

Design
02

Design

After the visit, I'll send a written proposal with sketches, materials, dimensions, and a firm quote. We'll talk through the wood. What's available locally, what trade-offs make sense, what you actually want. Once the design and the quote are locked in writing, work begins.

Usually 2-3 weeks of back-and-forth

Build
03

Build

This is the long part. Depending on the piece, the build takes anywhere from six weeks to four months. I'll send photo updates at the milestones. Wood selected, joinery cut, dry-fit assembly, finish applied. You won't have to chase me for updates.

6 weeks to 4 months, depending on scope

Delivery and follow-through
04

Delivery and follow-through

I deliver and install. For most pieces, that's a day. I'll walk you through how to care for the finish, what to expect as the wood acclimates, and how to reach me if something needs attention. A year later, I'll check in. The work doesn't end at the door.

Delivery day, plus a year of follow-up
