Walnut, original hardware preserved

Diane's grandmother's secretary desk had moved through three houses and a flood. The drawers stuck, the finish was lost, and the back was held on with packing tape.
I tightened every joint, rebuilt the back with quartersawn walnut to match the original grain, and refinished without stripping the patina that made it hers. The original brass pulls cleaned up beautifully. Nothing replaced.
She cried a little when she picked it up.
Tell me what you're thinking.
